3 Reasons to Migrate to Dynamics 365 in the Cloud

When I first heard about the Microsoft Dynamics 365 platform, I was immediately intrigued because I had been using the Salesforce CRM system for two years before switching to Microsoft. In my experience, the sales force automation capabilities of Dynamics were unmatched, especially compared to Salesforce. However, after speaking with some of my co-workers who worked at companies that had adopted Dynamics 365, they were not quite sure if they wanted to migrate their data over to Dynamics 365. After a few conversations with them, we came to find out that there were three reasons why they should not delay migrating to Dynamics 365.

Reason 1 – Data Security

As soon as you have any type of business software, you need to consider security. When you use cloud services, you put your data in someone else’s hands. You have no control over how secure these platforms are, so you need to make sure you trust them. If you don’t, then you run the risk of having your data compromised.

Reason 2 – Vendor Lock-in

Vendor lock-in happens when you choose a specific vendor to do something for you. It means that you are locked into using only that vendor’s products. Once you start working with a company, you may feel obligated to continue doing business with them because they know your business inside and out. But once you decide to switch vendors, you’ll lose those relationships and connections.

Reason 3 – Lack of Control

The biggest challenge with adopting online technology is the lack of control. Online systems give you little to no access to your data. When you start working with Dynamics 365, you get access to your data. You can export files, manipulate data, create reports, and even modify your own customizations. So, if you want to make changes to your data, you’re given full access to it.

Elasticity, scalability and accessibility have never been more important, especially as new disruptions continue to test organizations, solutions and processes alike.
